Europe, first half of 18th century

Forged, welded malleable iron. The arched shackle is hinged to the heart-shaped housing; at the top bend it is stamped with a trademark symbol, probably that of the producer. Pierced openings along the sides and a pierced heart in the centre of the housing, which terminates in coiled rings.
